José Risso Florio was born in Maldonado, Uruguay in 1970.
He was introduced to photography by Roberto Riverti and Panta Astiazarán to later perfect his black and white lab skills with Carlos Porro.
During this period he also studies fine arts as part of the Jones-Vicente art workshop, and attends History Of Art courses by Professor Miguel Ángel Battegazzore.
His works appear iconographically in the books “Al Este de la Historia” (”To the East Of History”) by Diego Fischer and Silvia Pizzani (Trilce, 1998) and “J. Torres Garcia, la Trama y los Simbolos” (”J.Torres Garcia, The Weaving And The Symbols”) by Miguel Ángel Battegazzore (City Of Maldonado,1999).

1999 Maldonado Mazzoni Museum: Themes And Variations. In the context of this exhibition Professor Battegazzore gives the lecture "La Fotografía en el Siglo XX" ("Photography In The 20th Century")
